The Roadside Stand
Does it seem to you like spring will never get here? Well, take heart folks it will! Before we know it, the rhubarb will be popping it’s red head up through the “Still” cold ground. The blueberry bushes, and the apple trees will be sprouting their buds. Once all of this begins, it seems to go so fast. It’s as if someone has turned spring and summer in the fast forward mode!
Fresh produce is SO good and the fresh picked fruits we get later on in the summer do not disappoint. There is always something to look forward to when you have some of these things growing in your own yard or a nearby produce stand. We always look forward to the strawberries getting ripe around July. The possibilities are many. strawberry rhubarb pies, strawberry rhubarb Jam, and of course the old favorite, strawberry shortcake. Visit a local stand and taste some of nature's many sweets. The Great Sacandaga Area is a great place to pick up homemade specialties.
